can i get a few suggestions....

i want to buy some corals... say two different kinds....

    i already have

    green star polyup
    staghorn

i got rid of xenia and an open brain coral died...

i don't want something that is going to grow all over the place that i will need to snip every friggin week so it doesn't take over the tank.

the green star polyup is on the substrate and away from the LR so it doesn't spread on it...

what about a mushroom package???? they look colorful... a pain to keep under control?

for lighting, i have two 150W MH Lamps - Phoenix Blue Bulbs 14K....... that is all... it's a 55G acrylic which is in the wall....

    thanks

Yes, regular mushrooms end up all over your tank in a matter of months. How about Ricordea florida? I love those and they won't take over your entire tank because they spread by fission (splitting). They're colorful and come in a wide variety of colors. They're easier to keep than Ricordea yuma. I've kept both and like them both. R. yuma spreads by pedal laceration.

Anyway, I would recommend you get some R. florida. They're beautiful and they're cheap.

P.S. -- I don't understand why people are charging so much for R. florida lately. They used to be only $8-$12 a polyp for the green ones and $20-$25 a polyp for the orange or blue ones. Looks like some of the vendors are offering them in a package deal but I hate to order stuff without being able to see what I'm getting.

I don't know anymore. The problem with buying just something like this online is that the shipping will be more than the cost of the corals. Click through our list of Sponsors and see if you find anything but buying locally is always better, when possible.

    Good luck!

I've had great luck with these guys...

    Welcome to Pacific East Aquaculture

They also have the best prices I've found and shipping is usually $30-$40 overnight for me but may be more or less depending on where you're located.

i second this, pacific east is great, Dr. Mac knows what he's doing, its only an hour and half from me, and only 15 minutes from my dads so i go there on occasion just to see whats up, his facility looks like a lab compared to most fish stores and he has an outdoor greenhouse where he propagates the frags as well as indoor.

ps i dont pay shipping there
