Tan/Black brittlestar - good choice?
I've read enough about the green ones and have decided to stay away from it for a while and got a tan/black one(6") for my 100 gal. - is this a good choice?

I think that's the kind I have. He's mostly black with some dark tan stripes. He never comes out during the day, but he'll wave his arms around if he smells food. He seems like a pretty safe choice. Doesn't seem to harm anything in my tank. I just wish he wasn't so shy.
One funny thing about him. He dissappeared one day. I thought he died or escaped, but couldn't find his body anywhere. A couple months later, I found him in my overflow box! And he had grown! I guess he was just surviving on the algae and detritus that passed through there. Anyways, now he's happy back in my main tank and hasn't explored that path again. |
