I want to do my monthly water change (which I have been neglecting) But one thing comes to mind: I was wrong about saying that my tank is not live, for some reason I didnt notice it until yesterday.... I have tons and tons of planktonic "bugs" swimming around my tank!!! tons! and the DSB is soo live that the bugs come out in the day time! Now, if I do a water change, I am killing hundreds of planktonic animals, and for no good reason!

make the water change. The amount of fauna you loose will be less than a skimmer would pull out of the tank, and you will need to get into the habit.

Siphon the water thru a fine-grade net and put the bugs back.

wgscott, good plan, that I will do! But first I need more RO water....
BTW, I still have RO water in my old water container (about 12 gallons worth) the container had a cover on it, and there was an amount of "rubble sand" (sand that fell of the LR when I was re-arranging the rock layout) The wate should still be usable right? It should even be cycled because of the sand right?? mark |

Well, the water itself doesnt actually cycle...
Keep reading and it will sink in. Its hard at first. Times and thinking on your reading and info will take care of it. Anyway.. the water is fine to use
