anemone smoking

can anyone tell me why my anemone is smoking,
also is my clownfish ok while its doing this?????

If the Anemone is spawning, the fish should be okay. If the Anemone is releasing any kind of offensive chemical (doing battle with tankmates), then it's best to perform a very large water change (over 75%) once a day during this, then one more the day after you see the last of the 'smoking.'

thanks for that, it was smoking for about half hour, i done a water check an it came out ok, while it was smoking it releast a long thick like jelly fied , well i can't explan what it look like, but everything looks ok today.

It was probably just gametes -- either eggs or sperm depending on the sex of your anemone.

What species of anemone do you have? How large is it? Are there any other anemones in the tank?
