Pic Evil Crab?

Here is a pic of the crab I have in my tank. It is about .5" big. He does not seem to be bothering anybody, not yet anyway. But from what I have previously read, crabs should not be in a reef tank. I tried the other night to catch him, placing a small jar in the tank. By morning I only found a couple of hermit crabs in there.
Should I take him out? He does not look to friendly.
TIA

Susan, I would leave him in I have a few of these crabs in my tank also and they don't bother anything. If you take a close look at these crabs when they are in the open they feed by catching suspended debri in the water. (kind of a filter feeder) They really come out of hiding when I add DT's Phytoplankton to my tank. Just my 2 cents.

He is pretty cool and cute to watch. I have noticed he has these circular transparent disc like, that he moves around in the wtr. I figured that he was filter feeding. I just wanted to make sure he is reef safe.

Susan, I got a nuciance crab out by sticking a pc of shrimp inside a net and suspending it in the tank. Once the crab went after it I just quickly swooped him against the glass and out of the tank.

That one is intresting. If it doesnt bother anything leave it be.

one of the few crabs that's mostly harmless. It's an anemone crab/porcelein crab. Neat little critters. They're mostly filter feeders catching small planktonic organisms with their "mitts". Mine unfortunately dissappeared some time ago (probably due to a nasty stone crab I have). Your's is very colorfull.

Here's a bad pic of mine sharing my LT anemone with my maroon clown...
