Cool Setup Pictures.

Here are some pictures of the current setup I have been working so hard on. This also shows the "closed loop" I created.

This show the closed loop and how I have set it up. The pipes in each corner of the overflow pullwater into the re-circ pump and they are returned by the (4)pipes in the center that come out into flex loc-line. The return pipes will serve 2 purposes. 1) will act as LR support, I will hae coped pc's under the pipes that go to the tank bottom. These pipes will be covered by LR and the only thing that will stick out is the flex line. 2) is it adds good circulation down low and I can adjust the output directions. I have yet to aquascape, but will soon after my new LR cures.

This show the re-circ manifold, which has the (4) clear lines coming out of the 1-1/2" manifold. You can also make out the suction/drain portion of the re-circ loop. It is the one that makes a 90 and changes from sch 80 (grey) to sch 40 PVC. You can also see where I had to tie both drains together along with both return from the sump.

This show the sump room, under the tank in my basement. The pump close to the ceiling is the re-circ pump and the one at the sump is of course the sump pump. To the right of the picture you can make out the beckett portion of my reef concepts skimmer.

The white anacondia's that goe from upstairs to the basement. The controller on the wall is my PLC I run the tank with, I still have to program ans wire this up on the new system.

Some shrooms that are growing in the tank. These were in my old tank, but they are SOOOOOO much clearer and sharper in this tank. The picture does not do it justice.

    Paul,
Everything looks very good except for one thing. You said you plan to use the return lines for LR support. Hmmmmmmm, how do you plan to do any kind maintenance or repair on the retune lines that are use to support the LR...You probably won't ever have to do anything to them but rememeber the golden rule......

Glad to see eveything is coming together...

    Paul,
Did you intentionally get your overflows where you can see through them? I might get that changed on mine if they are all like that.
    Otherwise looks great.

Hi, If those 2 pipes that's next to (outside) of the overflow box are the re-cir pipe from tank to the re-cir Pump, Wouldn't that run into risk to sucking in your life stock like anonmies or fish?

That is the greylight glass, I didnt realize you could see so much through it, and that isnt full lights yet which will make it brighter. I covered the outsides of mine up so that I couldnt see the standpipe looking through the starphire. My suggestion would be to use sch 80 pipe to make your standpipe, the stuff is grey and would hide very well. Or let mitch make it out of black also. I am still considering using it myself and replacing the standpipe I have. Also if you can use clear tubing as the return then that would hide it. I used 1" flex pvc (white) because its what I had.

I have filter screens that screw into the end of the pipes to keep that from happening.

    Dan,
That is a temp resting place for the ballast and such. I will be moving it to the wall where the pipes come through and the PLC is located.

Dan, its been a lot of work. I havent gotten to enjoy it much yet. I hope to have the new lights going next weekend if all goes as planned. If I can just make it through this I can settle in and try and pay for this setup

paul i love it it's a great setup i wish mine looked as nice.. I myself would move all electrical connections off the floor like how they are underneath the stand thats how I had a little fire a few months ago I had a little water spill get on a powerstrip I would mount them to the wood where they won't ever hae to worry about any water contacting them in the occurence that water somehow spills out of the tank or one of those water lines somehow somehow was to spring a leak..Dan

the last time i saw a post you had two 14" wrenches
and a bulkhead fitting that wouldn't cooperate! Your plumbing design is truely amazing!!
