Gonna kill it.....I hope

Hi All,
I got an aiptasia applicator/needle with a recent mail order. I am ready to kill my first one. I am going to try to inject it with boiling water first to see if it kills this one. I know this is a long shot, but I will start simple first.
It is located on a plug that came with an anthelia. The aiptasia has gotten pretty large, I almost don't want to kill it.
1) When I inject it will it remove itself from the rock right away, or will I have to pull or cut it out, or should I wait for something to happen?
2) I would like to remove the plug from the tank and then inject the aiptasia over a sink. But on the other hand I do not want to kill the anthelia, any thoughts about this?
3) Does it matter where it gets injected, or how it gets injected?

Thanks,
CaptK

Try to inject it right in the ctr. You are going to have to move quickly, cause once they see you coming with the syringe, they retract rather quickly. Also if you try taking it out of the wtr. it will do the same thing.
Usually if you get a good shot at them, they kind of shrink, and that is it. Sometimes they come back up later on, and you have to try again.

Thanks for the reply,
I am concerned, not sure if I have to be, that if I don't get a good shot at it while it is in the main tank that it might just get torn into pieces and then multiply in the tank? I am not sure but I think I have heard of that this is how it can multiply, maybe some one could correct me if I am wrong.
But if it does shrivel up and I assume it is dead should I just leave it there or do I have to pick it out?
Thanks Again,
CaptK

I had good luck injecting some with the calcium part of a 2 part additive.
Like everyone said you have to be quick, or hit the right hole in the LR.

Good luck

After I injected mine, and it shriveled, I just left it there. Have not seen it back since.
