Splendid Dottyback
I am thinking of putting a small Splendid Dottyback in my reef tank. When he grows up, is he going to go after my shrimp and or hermit crabs?
They grow to about 7-8 inches and are pretty lively. He is about 2 inches now and gets along with everyone in the 200 gallon community tank. Should I put him in the reef tank? |

All dottybacks are a risk with shrimp. Pseudochromis splendens and P. fridmani are relatively docile compared to other dottybacks. Maximum size for P. splendens is 3-4" (SL).

I wouldn't add it to your reef tank. I added two splendids to my reef and my girlfriend added two at the same time to her reef. Within 2 weeks we both noticed that our cleaner shrimps were gone.
