ID Please: White Spots on Astrea Shell

Hey Gang,

I noticed some white spots on my astrea shells and thought they might be eggs. I found a picture of them on Nano-Reef.com that I've attached. Most of my other snail just lay eggs on the glass. I guess I've just never noticed these before.

Hey Devon, I am gonna move this into the reef Aquarium forum, It will get a little more exposure there. I have the same thing, you may try calling Reeftopia, that is where the snails came from.

Looks like nerite snail eggs to me. Do you have any nerite snails in your tank?

I do but why are they growning on multiple astrea shells?

Do you have nerite snails in your tank? Sorry, my eyesight is really, really bad.

The nerite snails are laying the eggs on the Astraea snails' shells at night.

In answer to your next question, I don't know why they do that.
