    coral type? health?

I am wondering what I have here. it came on a piece of live rock and grew well for a couple months, increasing in size. the polyps on the small one have receeded for a week now and I don't know how to coax them out. last month I purchased a bubble tip and it walked across it overnight burning the big one, but I put it in the refuge for a couple weeks and it came back but the small chunk is not doing so well.

just a guess, it looks like either a montipora digitata... or some kind of pocillapora. i'd take it as a hitchhiker.. too bad about the BTA stinging it

    Tim,

I hope your guess is right, I've got 3 pieces of gulf aquacultured rock with massive growths of the same thing, actually got one piece where the center eye is green, and they are spreading, I've never actually researched what they are, because they have never lasted, this batch is doing good, so maybe it's time for some homework.

    Tanks,
    Robert

It is digita, it will grow nice with colored tips if your water is good. Mine grew real nice in about 6 months.
