Angry Arrrrggghhhhh! Flatworms!!!

I just looked at the glass on my ten gallon's sump and I see FLATWORMS!! Little clear brown ones! I also saw lots of little black worms crawling on the glass. They are about 1/8" long and thinner that a human hair. What are those?

Is there a way to rid a tank of flatworms without sterilizing it? I really do not want to start over and do not want a flatworm species tank. I want a nano reef!

HELP!!!!!!

Mark

I dont know what species you got but, the ones that are dangerous to corals are red.

My flatworms went as fast as they came.I started out with just a few, and they multiplied quickly. They never reached epidemic proportions, but there were enough of them to form "mats" on several areas of the substrate. I searched the www and only found conflicting reports on how to get rid of them. I tried a few of these tricks, but nothing even came close to working. These are the ones I had (BTW, I did not take this photo) They thrived for ~8-10 weeks, and one day I looked in the tank and they were orange. From that point, thier numbers started decreasing until they were gone. It was like they went through a cycle, and burned themselves out. Yours might do the same thing.

Good luck!
