crazy little star fish like things...

I just noticed these all over my back glass, they are really really tiny (about the size of a pin head) and have between 6 and 10 arms. I have no idea what they are, they are white colord and all i can think of is starfish or some really fast growing small polyp (there are 100's of them). Any ideas??

    Is this it?

In that case, it is a hydroid. A form of jelly fish.

Two is only loosely associated with two by a plus sign and therefore doesn't enter the equation at all since it is only there by mere complicity. We shouldn't count it and leave well enough alone.

Actually, I cannot take credit for this.

I posted a thread anbout my 5 gallon dwarf seahorse tank at seahorse.org and was warned not to add live rock due to the presence of hydroids. Mind you that I had never seen a "hydroid", so I asked and this pic was posted. I had them in my 10 gallon before, but I never knew what they were. Anyway, they like to kill dwarf seahorses.

Ihave noticed some of these in our FO tanks. Are they harmful to fish or seahorses only? I have never seen them getting any bigger than the picture. Don't know if something ate them of not or if I dislodged them cleaning the glass.

From my understanding hydroids are mainly harmful to drawf seahorses because of there small size they will be stung to death other fish can get stung but it is not as harmful to them.
