With either the 6 or 8 bulb T - 5 would I be able to keep stuff like the acros etc?
Tanks
Robert
Gotcha, sending you a pm with a link to currents resale site, they are all factory rebuilds direct from current. Check it out and let me know your thoughts, the one in the link is the 8 bulb it would hang over the tank by 5/8 of an inch front and back, if 8 bulbs would be to much light, I could always remove one or two bulbs, this way when I get a bigger tank someday, I've got the light for it too

Robert............................................ ................. you would be fine with the 6 bulb. Do a little reading just on this site and you will find that people are doing just fine with acros and T5's.
Just look at Michaels tank.

Just checked out Mike's tank in his gallery, I see what you mean, and a Clam or two at the top should be ok shouldn't it?

Thats cool about the coral beauty thats my wife favorite Fish, but I was always told that they would eat your corals so i told her no way that was going in the tank, but now i might at least consider it.

Jeremy,
All angels come with a might nip warning, Just an example, have you ever checked out Charlies emp. thread, he raised him from a babe, now he's worried about when he is gonna wanna borrow the truck keys, he's had no issues, as charlie pointed out it's a crap shoot, but I figure if he is well fed elsewhere, he should be fine, I hope. But mine is a beautiful fish, his colors are deep and a very detailed, wish I could take a real pic of him, might try again later for a better pic.
Besides that, How ya been?
Tanks,
Robert
Here is a larger pic of the avatar for anyone who is curious
Evil looking little dude ain't he, he looks that way in all the pics we got of him, He just has that attitude, "If I gotta have my pic taken in order to eat, so be it, I'm not gonna smile". He really is a cool cat.
Tanks,

Been good robert just trying to watch dallas beat green bay,
Built a frag rack last night and working on building a small one after the game. hows the tank coming along i see you were looking at lighting. I like my T5s its a six bulb, i think it works great on the 125 less heat and cheaper power bill. Thats cool about the angel fish learn somthing new everyday,I told my wife we might give it a shot, she wants a flame angel.
You get to drive that Ferarri yet?![]()

If heat is an issue for you then I would definitely go for the T5's and 6 of them, in my opinion. I have a 4 bulb fixture over my 80, for the last 3 months or so anyway and all of my corals have good growth and color. If I had the option of a 4 bulb or 6 bulb, I would have gone for the 6. I just added a small maxima clam so we'll have to wait and see how that pans out. I don't have the "shimmer" effect of the metal halides or the fast growth of metal halides but I'm not really into fast growth right now. I outgrew my 29 in 1 1/2 years and don't really want to have to get a bigger tank in another year and a half. Maybe a few years down the road! Keep us posted.
Check out this guy's 220G equipped "only" with T5's.

Great Link Cynthia,
Thanks for the information
Tanks,

Just a quick update on the coral beauty, it's been a week and a half some I brought him home, he eats like a horse, and his colors just keep getting better, no ill signs of their reputation for being a pain to keep, he is turning into an incredible fish, just beautiful as its name indicates, will try to get him to hold still for a good pic here in a little while. All I can say is wow, best 30.00 I spent in awhile.
Tanks,
Robert
Here's a pic, best I could do with my el cheapo camera and a fish that doesn't want to hold still, now the tang is a camera hog as you can see by the other couple of pics
Just got done reading your thread! your first post is definitly the best advice one can give....sounds like you are really gonna have a nice setup! love the cb! my wife picked one and weve had it for a while and never had a prob...they are definitly voracious eaters! i grow a patch of algae on my glass for it and it tends to keep him less interested in the valuables of the tank.
