Tank cover
My glass top busted, what can I use to cover my tank without filtering to much light. What about screen? I don't want to use glass again because it does filter a lot of the light. I need this so my Snowflake eel doesn't jump out.

I would suggest lighting diffuser, aka eggcrate. You can get a 4'x2' sheet of it for about $7 bux at HD. HTH

Id use fiberglass screening, you can build a framework and attatch the screen to that. be glad your glass lid broke because they are no good and hurt your system. It hinders gas exchange and retains excessive amounts of c02 and then lowers your pH.

A screen as in like any type of material like a regular window screen will block a considerable amount of light.
Go with no top.

if he goes with no top his eel will end up on the floor dead. One of the. Screening would block less then glass, and less then eggcrate.

I don't know how much area you have at the top of the tank or how much room your lighting requires but you could try a skirt all around the top edge of the tank to whatever measurement you lighting could accomodate.
