I just added a peppermint shrimp (after 5 1/2 hours drip acclimation) to hopefully eat the little aptaisia. The minute I put him in, the flame angel positioned herself to get cleaned. She maneuvered the shrimp down into a crevice and continues to posture, mostly sticking her butt into the shrimp's nose. I finally inticed her out with a little bit of mysis, but as soon as she finished eating, she went back to pester the peppermint.
Has a peppermint shrimp ever been known to clean parasites? If the angel doesn't get her way, do you think she'll hurt the shrimp? Pretty odd!

The Peppermint Shrimp (Lysmata wurdemanni) is the Caribbean Cleaner Shrimp.

Too COOL! Thanks, Ninong.
The shrimp's been in there almost 3 hours and is happily hanging upside down with the angel still posturing for a grooming. (I sure can't see even the tiniest spot on the fish). She seems to have made the shrimp her personal valet. ![]()
