Post Oh well! new pics anyway

I was just getting ready to post some new pics and Burch puts up Randy's tank as "tank of the month" it should be "tank of the year"

Very nice Golfish, but what is that color in the middle? Looks like you took out the 12,000K, right? Is that a 6500K Iwasaki in the middle, or is that just my imagination?

The 12K just wasn't getting the job done. Its right over the cross bar and wasn't producing enought light in the middle of the tank. Steve was kind enought to give me some of his VERY NICE SPS frags last week. I have to give them the best light I can. I like the color of the 12K 10x better than the BUTT UGLY 6.5K.....The tank looks so much better with the 12K bulb but the corals look better with the 6.5K......I have 4x55 watt PC's, I'm going to throw them in the reflector this week.....

Jeff ~

What he has in there right now is a 400w 6500K Iwasaki in the middle with Ushio 250w 10,000K HQI dbl-ends on either side of it. He's getting ready to add 4x55w PC actinics.

Lookin' great Mark. If you are putting your 55's back on look into the new PC 03 bulbs that lampsnow.com has. They really are a much better actinic than the old blue ones. All my green corals really glow. Also search a thread on my name as there is a $10 off coupon you can use on their website . . if you are interested.

Talk to you soon.

Brian

Hey Brian,
I just squeezed 4x55 watt blue PC's in the 24" PFO reflector. The color is GREAT now. The whole tank is a CRISP BRIGHT WHITE. This is it, the color I've been looking for.....

Ninong,
I'll try to get a couple pics up tomorrow. I don't think the camera will pick up any difference. The color if perfect.

Scubadude,
Awwwwww the Hammer, Ever since I moved it to the new tank it just hasn't been the same. First I had to break it off the two pieces of LR it had cemented itself too. My pair of false clowns made it their new home and then there's the new light. I know it doesn't like the 1200 watts of light shinning down on it, at least not yet
