    Kalk Drip Methods..

I have already thought about that, thank you.
I had my girlfriend bring home a iv kit, she's a nurse. There's a pincher device on it that krimps the tubing to slow the water flow. I may try that instead of the drop nozzle. The drip nozzle is working fine tho.

I tried that a couple of years ago, but the little pincher thingy, (), wore out on me.

Just the regular old 1/4" OD tubing and a John Guest valve. Not very good, but it works.

"John Guest" valve. Wow talk about being conceeded. Hymlick only has a manuver. John Guest (if that is his real name) has named a whole valve. I am Joking.
How does the JG valve work anyway? Is it a bal valve? Does it stay consistant?

Yep, just like a ball valve, and to be honest, it doesn't stay real consistent. I usually check mine about every 8-10 hours and adjust.

Have you tried the sprinkler system drip valves? It seems to working fine for me.

I don't exactly know what you are speaking of with "sprinkler system" deal, have you got a pic?

    Re: Kalk Drip Methods..

I don't have a pic but search the net for sprinkler system drip valve. It connects a 1/4" tubing and it has a screw cap that adjusts from 0-10 GPH.
I'm finding that it is also sensitive to water pressure. The more water in the top off tank, the more PSI and thus more drips... ArrrGhhhh~!
I'm thinking about giving up this hobby and going back to my pet rock.

Yeah, sounds like that gravity thing!!!!

I will get around to that search, but it sounds like basically the same thing that is going on with me as far as consistency!!!

    Re: Kalk Drip Methods..

This is a good news bad news post Many years ago I bought this valve to use on my calcium reactor to control the drip rate. I ended up never using it- it sat in a box for years, and then a couple months ago I started dripping kalk and rememberd I had it:
The bad news is I can't remember where I bought it or precisely what it's called. I'm pretty sure it's a JG fitting though. It's ideal for controlling the drip rate. I just spend 20 minutes searching the internet for these things but came up with nothing more than the regular JG ball valves

I wish I had more than one brain cell... I can't remember where I got it it was so long ago. Actually, I got two- I'm using one for dripping kalk and one for the calcium reactor. I'll post it if I can find the place.

Greg, if you only have one brain cell, what does that leave me????????????????????? Old John Guest must still make those, and if he doesn't, shame on him!!!!!!
