it was a battle but for almost the first year it was around 600. its been a stable 520 since then and i thought it was ok. i havent been able to get it down any lower and havent added any calcium since i started the tank. its been tested on several different testers and it comes out 510-520

yes, i test it with a ppm meter and its always under 2ppm

i would have thought that my cal would drop at some point since the coraline grows like mad in there. the corals grow pretty well too

i figured i'd be needing to order a calcium reactor by now
i looked at the stuff i add to the tank and none of it has calcium in it. bare bottom tank, bb fuge....could it be leaching from rocks?

Hows the sps and lps corals doing?? if those are the ones growing really well, and with the coraline growth you are talking about, sounds like something is somehow adding cal. to the mix

sps and lps is growing great. i have 2 acro's that are and have had issues for a while but that was from something else. the birdnest, other that what was eaten by the damsil and my other acro look great. good polyp extension and the lps corals look great. my new duncan is growing fast. soft corals are also growing well and looking good. not sure what could be adding cal though

after reading back through my thread, my cal has been below 500...so i guess it is on its way up again. so, now im real stumped....but, since everything is healthy other than the kenya, and my alk and mag are good, do i really need to be concerned?

same salt mix and mixing bucket. the bucket gets washed once a month and water changes are 5 to 8 gal a week

loooks like 32 drops from an api test kit....not sure what that is, i gotta find the manual online, but i think thats high

Sorry I wasn't clear, I was asking if the salt you use, is it the same batch(large bucket type) that you were using back in Feb.....

2 drops - 40
3 - 60
4 - 80
5 - 100
6 - 120
26 - 520
so if im 32 drops that means my salt mix is around 600

yep, same stuff...i think my mix is high in cal
