i got home from work last night and the lights were already off(longggggg day) ill try to get them up tonight. they seem ti be doing well though. i fed them some mysis and they gobbled them down. the guy at the lfs said he couldnt get them to eat regularly and many of the polyps had melted away.the ones that were left look pretty good. there are about 16 or 17 left and each one ate well so im hoping they make a nice recovery. the chromis and sixline made a nice little addition to the tank as well. im hoping the sixline helps me out a little with these da&^ pyramids. they are now working on some of my zoas

    Re: twisteds salty adventure

yesterday i broke down my fuge to add an 8" sand bed and a plenum to it. i also removed half my tank water so i could move it to lay down some new carpet in the living room. everything went pretty smoothly. i also put the lawnmower back in the main tank to help me out with a small algae outbreak. i set up a 20 gal pod culture tank to replace what i lost in the fuge since it was emptied and scraped clean. i noticed quite a few pods in the culture tank so it shouldnt take long to get a good supply of them again. the fuge came out real nice. i just need to add about 5 more gal to it so the water level is good for the skimmers in the sump section. ill get some pics of it tonight. i should also be able to get some better pics of the black suns too.

    Re: twisteds salty adventure

in only 24 hrs ive already noticed a difference in the tank. some new colors are visible in my acros and the overall colors of most of the corals are very noticeable. i added 8 more gallons to the fuge to get the water level right for the skimmers and they are doing some serious skimming. i think i finally got things the way i want them. oh, a little update on the 3 chromis....there is now 1 chromis...the other 2 have for some reason swam right into the nem, and, well, didnt make it out...so that makes 2 chromis, carpenter wrasse and a tiger jawfish that have become nem food. i really hope the rest of the fish wisen up.

    Bummer on the chromis',

you might want to set up fan blowing over the fuge, the therm. shows a little warm...

that was actually from the heater dial being bumped when i was moving everything. i noticed it when i posted the pic. it now back to 78 in the am and 80 in the pm. say a little prayer for my sps rock. my nem has mounted itself on the back of it and if it moves a few inches up or to the left they are all in trouble. it already nailed my stylophora and my tricolor and they dont look so good

i think the nem found a spot finally. its in the same place it was last night and the rest of my sps is safe. the stylo looks fine today. the tri color looks as bad as yesterday but i can always replace it if it doesnt pull through. as for lost fish due to the nem, i think the roon didnt want any more company in the tank since all the fish that have been eaten by the nem were new adds. the roon chased them into the nem. it looked just like a dog that herds sheep. though its sad about losing the fish, i cant send the nem away, my roon looks so content and happy. he did spare the smallest of the 3 chromis i got and he hasnt shown any aggression towards it. he doesnt seem to mind the 6 line being in there either. i just wont add anymore fish and see if any more disappear. if it does happen, ill just have to set up a nem tank and let it grow out like Gene's

Gotta leave a couple fish to have babies for future meals, right?

The only fish I have that will go near my E. Quad is a 4" bicolor angel. Clowns have still not taken to it (not sure they will at this point) and the PJ Card never goes down that low in the tank. Surprisingly though, the Angel brushes up against the nem all the time and it doesn't seem to phase either of them.

my yellow tang will brush it occasionally and doesnt flinch. the rest of the fish keep their distance. i gotta find a thread that has how much food is recommended for them. maybe im not feeding it enough during its feeding times.

hopefully it doesnt come to that...i gotta stall things till im ready for what i picked up a few days ago...a friend of a family friend bought a 375 gal 8'x30"x30" with stand and canopy last year and never set it up. i payed 500 for it. i think it was a steal since water had never been in it and its still got the stickers on it....so, there is no turning back now. i am gonna order another icecap to cover the other 4' and start planning this out to have it up and running by march. i hope i can do it earlier but since the baby will be here in 2 months, i have alot to do beforre then. this tank is frking huge! im pretty stoked about this. i was gonna just keep quiet about it till i had it full of water but i couldnt...lol....ive bounced around so much trying to choose a tank but its carved in stone now....

That is BIG news. I'm stoked to follow along on this one! Will the 75 fit under the stand?

im not positive it will but i believe so. im not sure if im gonna put it under there. ive been thinking about putting the 75 in the closet on the other side of the wall and the 45 underneath.

no kiss, but i did give him a big hug with a tear in my eye. i cant believe i scored such a sweet deal. he did mention that it would be cool if i gave him the 75 when the 375 is ready to switch over. ill probably just buy a 75 and give it to him. we'll see what happens as time draws nearer to the set up
