hey chas. i think i ahve a gameplan for when i switch the tanks over.im gonna have to pull the 75 out about a foot. then set the new cabinet 6" off the wall . then the new tank will fit behind the 75. at that point, in the new tank goes live sand bed of 4". then the new rock will be added. once i like the way the bottom rock is, ill add about a foot of new water to the new tank and and tie both tanks into the new sump. that way i can deal with the same water chemistry between the tanks. the new rock will get some algae but i dont think ill really deal with a cycle this way. ill have plenty of water made up to deal with both tanks for a week and then ill start switching over everything from the 75 including the existing rock. everything gets moved except the maroon and the gsp on the wall. then my 75 will slide underneath and be topped off to become the fuge. i already made an insert from acrylic to slide in and seperate a small prtion on each side of the tank for and iinlet with a baffle and a pump compartment on the other end. it should go pretty smoothly...i hope...lol... i think the key to it all will be having enough water on hand to handle what comes with the dry rock. if things get out of control, i can always throw everything in my buds frag tank till i figure out whats up.
