    Re: twisteds salty adventure

i ordered my new lights last night! on the way is the orbit t5/mh/led setup that im pretty stoked about. i also ordered live copepods so i can make sure im stocked for the mandarin goby im gonna pick up this weekend. i have a refugium type setup with a chunk of marsh in it that i feel has plenty of live food in it already but ive heard the mandarins need alot of food so i set up a small tank with some live rock to have some backup. im debating on wether to connect it to my tank or just keep it in the other room. i noticed today that i have some baby serpent stars? i do have a mature one and they look just like it. they could have come in on some rock but i think i would have noticed them before. are stars asexual?

thanks! the maroon is one of the most ocd fish ive ever seen! he keeps the area under the bt so clean by tail sweeping and moving any coral or rocks that are around it by carrying them to the other side of the tank.

Have they taken to getting pieces of your flesh yet when you stick your hands in the tank?

actually they are quite docile....i've been told by several people maroons are mean and aggressive, but it gets along with all its tank mates and even shares his little cave with my serpent star, coral beauty and lawnmower goby

I think as they get a little larger, things may change a bit. I had a tomato clown that drew blood on me, and I think if you ask zhenya about maroons, he can give a long dissertation on the values of said clowns. Don't get me wrong, they are great fish, but they may get a little touchy!!!

A sure fire way to convince her is to tell her to stick her hand down near their anemone!!! Once she finds out that they carnivorous, she may change her mind!!!!

they are somewhat strategically placed to be removed as they spread. so far my palays are keeping them in place. as the xenia touches them they seem to lose their tops. so far so good but as all things in nature...they always find a way...lol

Well good luck. I thought mine were strategically placed until they strategically took over. I've tried to put them in place too... They don't seem to care whether I water-board them or not...
