    Rock from the South Pacific
    CPR rated at 800
    Mag 9.5 return pump
    Flying lessons for the cats
Ah yes, Lowes, the other $100 store!!!!!

The flying lessons for the cats is the cheapest out there, and can be self taught!!!!

I will be around most of the day, practice for the Nascar boys starts at 11 here, so I gotta get some stuff done around here before that starts up, that and there is a truck race tonight I believe;););)

Watch the fish during the cautions!!! That is what I used to do, but since I redid my lighting photoperiod, my lights go off at 8. I suppose I could watch my refugium???

    Re: Live Rock question

That may be just as interesting, my sump fascinates the hell out of me at times ! Guess it depends on the mood ! I haven't figured out a lighting schedule yet, so they go out when I go to bed. I do turn the blue ones on about an hour before I turn on the others and I try to remember to turn the bright ones off about an hour before the blue ones go out. That's my lighting program. See you at the track

    Re: Live Rock question

No I havent yet. I've heard of that and I do want to try it. Will I be afraid of what I see ??????? I do have a couple worms that I don't particulary care for too much. They look like earth worms with like a suction cup head. My daughter has a really pretty (flat/bristle) worm in hers, it's a light orange color.

Yeah, hopefully. Just don't have a conversation with my kid about the serpent stars ! She had me convinced the first night that I was gonna wake up to him tapping me on the shoulder !
I'm gonna try that tonight, gotta find the flashlight now.

    Re: Live Rock question

She has a teriffic sence of humor. She wants to go to college, she just doesn't know what direction to go in. She wanted to go into pharmacuticle (? sp), but right now she is training harness horses and doing the horse racing thing. Horses are her world, she has 5 of her own. Barrel racing, eventing, jumpers . . . No wonder I do fish !

    Re: Live Rock question

I just changed the felt filter pad in my sump ! Gave up on the glass, nothing is "streak free" and it's almost like my glass has an oil on it.
How many tanks do you have ?

    Re: Live Rock question

I almost forgot. . . . . . When I take the rock out of the sump, is it o.k. to do it all at one time ? What kinds of macro algea would you suggest I get to replace the rock ? I have some Red Gracilaria Macroalgae on it's way just because I thought it was pretty, at least it will be until the fish eat it. I was going to put this in the aquarium itself.

    Re: Live Rock question

Got 2 salt tanks, the 300 and a 40 gallon breeder that is a frag tank and home to 2 green clown gobies and gold neon pygmy goby. Three freshwater tanks, 45, 100 and a 155 bowfront.

If you are gonna grow macro in the sump, look for some chaetomorpha! And don't forget, that is gonna need a light over it also.

    Re: Live Rock question

You got me beat, I've got the 75 and the 20 salt and a 55 and a 30 fresh. I've gotta upgrade the 55 though, my fish are too big now !
As far as the lighting goes, would a small flourescent light work ? Would I just turn it on like I would the aquarium or does it need to be on longer ?
When I get the rocks out, I'm gonna get a bracket for the overflow hose to keep it in one corner and I am going to put the macro algea in there, does that sound like an idea ? I didn't say it was a good one though
It is a space that is 8" X 12". reguardless of what it looks like to people around here, I always do try to have a plan in place before starting a project ! Do I follow the plan ??? Sometimes. . . . . . . .

    Re: Live Rock question

BTW, I was just thinking, I'm a little slow at times, how the heck do you do a water change on a 300 gal tank, call the fire dept ????
Let me guess, you have it all plumbed, unscrew one nozzel it drains, screw another and it fills, right ?
