    Re: Vortech MP40 pumps

    Charlie,

I use the same eductors in my tank and had to remove one of them for now because the sand bed had been relocated to one side. In other words I have a big dent in the sand bed in the center of the tank and two larger piles on the sides.
I'll probably end up taking the other one off line as well. By the way, those 3/4" eductors don't fit on the regular 3/4" locline, so I ended up using the short little line that they come with and it is a real PITA because those things suck up air if placed too close to the surface. Bubbles galore...
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

    Re: Vortech MP40 pumps

That is what I was worried about, as I had read that they don't fit locline. I am not worried about relocating a sand bed, so that isn't a problem. My sea swirls are about 1" below the water line so I don't know if they would suck air??????

    Re: Vortech MP40 pumps

Charlie, I think 1" below the surface should be fine as far as bubbles are concerned.
I know you don't have sand in your tank, I was just mentioning it to illustrate how much water these things really push. At the same time the flow is pretty gentle coming out of the nozle, like Kevin mentioned already.

In any case, I think you should at least unpack your mp40's and give it a test drive? :eek3:
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

I had them out of the box this morning, and the instructions out.

You are like me, Charlie, I like to get stuff and keep it for a spell before doing anything with it. I remember when I got my Lumenarcs and had them sitting in the office floor for good three month, maybe more...
    Kind regards,

    Gene.
