haven't updated in a while. will start with the bad news first had a pink scooter blenny but he die bout 4 days ago for some reason he was eating fine and not getting pick on got my water tested at lfs and everything was fine i usual lost a yellow polyped coral. good news had some new coral frags lps and sps and 2 peacock wrasses and 2 reef white aquaray hopefully with be getting one more and a control unit.i have started to put lr in to my filter now.
Welcome to Reefland.Your 30gal.=125ltr.tank is overstocked I would not add anymore fish. The Sailfin Tang requires at least a 125gal.=473ltr.tank.I would also recommend removing the crushed coral substrate and replacing it with sand, the large particle size will trap detritus and become a nitrate factory.

the sand is all fine sand apart the bits by my jawfishie home then it is coral rumble has for the sailfin tang when he gets to big i will rehome unlit that time come he is fine he has loads of room. i am planning to add one more fish. thanks for the adivce tho
Nice setup. What additional fish do you plan on adding?
New Setup in progress. 75 Gallon reef.....still trying to figure out what I need. Your help is much appreciated.
thanks m8. thinking bout a flasher wrasse. i am thinking bout selling my clowns has they don't move from the filter pipe.
Hello.
hello
If you have crushed coral you have nitrates and you have crushed coral.
The Sailfin tang needs a big aquarium and should not be housed in aquariums smaller than 100 gallons / 375 litres. A juvenile specimen can be kept in a 75 gallon / 285 litres tank. The aquarium where you house your Sailfin tang must contain plenty of open water for swimming as well as a lot of nook and crannies that will serve as hiding spots for the fish. Including Acroporid coral skeletons is recommended.

so how come my nitrate tests read zero than????
i test my water every other day and once a week at two different lfs and the results is the same zero. my NITRATES r ZERO.
i know lots of people with tangs in a 125ltr tank. my sailfin has loads of room and loads of cover if he wants to hide.
