I wish my local store had a selection like yours. I have do drive down to Lansing for a selection like that.

Just in my reefing ventures, I don't think you need to get that presise w/ brain coral. Keep them on the bottom in a steady medium flow, and target feed them meaty foods when they are opened up early in the morning occasionally. I have a red rim, and a channel brain that are doing very well using this method. I do add Kents essential elements about once a week and it has iodine. Yes, I own a bottle of "snake oil", I just couldn't help myself, the pictures on those bottles just get me.

Ill take pics of the full frag tanks. That was just the 60-70 dollar section. He has soooo many frags, its so hard not to just say "dont even write me a check, ill just grab some frags" everyday. But i do want to take advantage on the prices and my discount. I want to get as much as i can while i can get it cheap before i move up to Orlando and have to move my whole tank.

Make sure your Cal, Alk and mag are all in balance along with the usual stuff, pH, nitrates etc before you start adding any sps, lps or clams. And remember go slow..............

Heres the rest of the frag tanks. Not including all the 75 gallons on the wall.

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

    Nick,

Please keep in mind that clams and alot of sps and lps demand calcium, alk and mag to grow, if you are not watching these closely you are gonna have issues, don't rely on you lfs even if you work there to tell you everything is ducky, you are gonna need to research dosing and additives like yesterday, and get it set up......
    Tanks,
    Robert

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

Well, i get that checked every week, and not at the place i work. I also do dose CA and MG 2-3 times a week, depends on what my tests say. I use aquavitro for my Ca and Mg dosing.

Im deff going to make sure my water checks out first before i do anything. i did a 15gallon water change last night. My anemone found a home that is Perfect. One of the holes in my rock i actually wanted him in he liked, so hes good there. And my clam is fully opened up and just rocking some amazing colors. My tank is in the process of becoming a real reef, but im still taking it slow.

Seems a little soon to be adding a clam IMHO Deathy, let alone multiple clams. Make sure you keep a close eye on your water params as Robert has already pointed out. If I were you I would let things ride for a while as well.

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

    Nick,

Just reread a couple of your earlier post(2/25) if you are planning a move to Orlando here in the near future, I'm not all that sure you will be wanting to stock your 110 with as much as you can get, as you put it, then tear it all down for the move, what are your plans for keeping everything alive when you move, I know south fla to orlando isn't all that far, but by the time you tear the tank down, load it, move it, set it back up again, it's probably not gonna be a day job, more like 2 days, storing corals isn't like storing live rock, keep that in mind..............
    Tanks,
    Robert

I feed my BTA Silversides. I normally give him half of one. I took this pic right after i fed him which is why he's kinda folded up.

And yeah, my Clown didnt host to him. Time to take him to the pound

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

I used to feed mine solely larger pieces of krill when I first got mine. Then I fed him half long silver sides alternating. Does yours ever eat them then throw them back out about 2 hrs. later? That means the portions are too big. I read an article about nem feeding a month ago and it said to feed them all sorts of meaty foods. Since I added squid pieces, clam bits, and suck up larger mysis shrimp w/ a baster then squit about 20 at him. I also feed the fish heads, fins and all which was recomended in the article. Last I started feeding him smaller portions to make it easier to ingest. Since I have been following this new feeding regimine he has shown significant overall improvement in appearance. I suggest you give it a shot. I also gave him a friend in a anemone porcelein crab cause my clowns ignore him. The crab is a filter feeder primarly and hasn't left the crab since. I think it is a cool hosting relationship.

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

I feed mine about 3 times a week w/ a couple squirts of mysis shrimp inbetween those. What about you? Does your store have "saltwater multipack"? That has cubes of brine, mysis, emerald entrae, and squid. I feed the squid and small krill to the nem then the rest to the fish. It works out well. Yours looks young still and has the bubbles at the end of its fingerlings (I forget what they are called) good looking bta. They loose those bubbles somewhat as they age. My local fish store is closeing down for good (sucks!) and he had a sweet bta w/ a maroon in there w/ him hosting. I wish I had a place for them, I could have got them for a steal. I hope some knuckle head dosen't get them.

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

buy him and ship them to me, ive been looking for a Maroon/nem pair, but only if its a baby maroon

I try feeding him 3 times a week, but when he spit it out i thought he wasnt hungry, but now i know to just cut it smaller thanks to you :] Ill look into the multipack today at work.

Sometimes he gets little white bands around the bubbles, idk why though.
