Sorry to hear about the downer stuff, I'm kinda in the same boat myself, just perfect what you have and what you can when you can. My 55 looks pretty barren right now, but its doing great, financial down falls are happening everywhere, it sucks, but we can only hope it doesn't last much longer. Just maintain what you have and as you can add as you go along.

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

Just did a 30gallon water change to help get my params in check. Took out ALL of my rock, cleaned it off, got most of the sand out and rearranged it. Now i have like, 3 shelves to put things on and such when i get to that point. Need some more rock though to fill up one spot.

    Lights are awesome!!

Also, it takes my pump around 35seconds to fill up a 5gallon jug. What formula would i use to figure out its size?

    Looking good Deathie

I'd lower that light a little though if I could.

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

Its going to be lowered once i chop out some support beams and such in my Hood. Then itll only be bout an inch or 2 above the water.

    35/5 = 7 sec/gal

    60/7 = 8.57 gal/min

    8.57 x 60 = 514.28 gal/hr

    ... x 24 = 12,343 gal/day, etc...

    So your pumps probably rated @ 500gph, or at least that's its current output ;;

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

I think that means that my pump isnt big enough to give me enough water flow at 500gal per hour for my 110gal tank :\

Yeah, i get to get out the power tools and do some man work on my hood!

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

Look at the mag 12, that will give you around 750 - 800 gph at the guesstimated head you are running, maybe a little more.

    Tanks,

    Deathy,

That depends on who you ask

Me, I want more flow as my design is to keep sps and one or 2 lps with a couple of clams, I want more flow for the sps.

    Tanks,
    Robert

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

Well i want to get a whole ray of corals and such for my tank so i think the more flow i get the better. I set up some rocks like shelves so i can get some claims and such and put them perfectly on display and have plenty of light.

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

your corals are a ways down the road, as are mine, you've got time to get the mag 12, that along with your k4's you should be in good shape, take it from one who knows, go slow and do it right the first time.

    Tanks,
    Robert

    Re: Deathies 110 Gallon

Thats true, didnt think about how long it would take to get all of that lined up. By that time i should have enough saved up for a mag12 and the K 4's. My pet rocks bit me today when i moved them around in my tank :[
