    Flow Flow Flow Merry Christmas

Today I added my 5th Hydor K8 to my tank. Another 3250 GPH of flow and the corals are loving it. I am at 57 times the turn over in the tank.

Since www.petstore.com is having that great sale on them I ordered two more as back ups but I think I am going to go ahead an add at least one more to the tank to bring total flow to about 69 times turn over. If I add both of them then I will be around 82 times turn over in flow. That might be pushing it.

Just wondering what everyone else has for turn over rate.

yeah it is pretty good but I have a 8 foot tank so towards the end it is more of a rolling affect.

Thinking of removing the sand from the tank because of all the flow

Ive been told that if you do go with a BB, then you need extra water flow, so you might need to grab some extras K8's if you do remove the sand.

I will still have some sand in the bottom below the crates I have undermy rocks. I dont think there is a way to get it all out unless I take the entire tank down. I have a 3" sand bed in the refugium so I might add some of the sand from the tank to the refug to make it a 5"

I need this set up to hold me until May, in May my brother is taking it to Cali. From there I don't know if I am going to keep a reef here at this house because of all the traveling over the summer.

Hopefully next October I can get down to our cali house and set up the 630 gallon we have had planned for about a year now. This depends on where my son goes for college
