thanks, i have all winter long to read and make adjustments. the ug is already gone. all i had to do is pull the pipes out. so now it is a refugium. didnt even make a mess. there really werent water pockets in it since it was a mainfold of 1/2 pipes but its gone now.

did you ever pinpoint what was causing the high Ca levels. Was it just having your Alk too low?

to be honest, no i didnt really find the cause but things have been better once i started a 2 part alk dose. my alk has been stable around 9 and over the past few months the calcium has come down to around 480. what i think may have been the prob was not establishing a good alk regimen. i really like the b-ionic stuff. ill be switching to kalk mix within the next few weeks. thanks for asking

forgot to add. the fuge has been rid of the ugf deal and has a dsb about 3"...removing the ug piece may have helped too
