Thanks guys!
I took Gene's advice and started some zoas on the overflow wall. I put two frags of watermelon bursts in the bottom slot and a large colony of hornets at the base. Now we'll just see how fast they spread.
NO Pics![]()

nice tank metal! just skimmed through the 16 pages. How did you put the rocks up like that? glued? i'm thinking about doing two islands like thathope i'm not copying
Thank you
The rocks are just stacked believe it or not. I was planning to go back and use some zip-ties after the fact as I usually have done in the past but it ended up being very sturdy without them.
Check out Charlie's build thread for another "island" idea using acrylic rods and feel free to copy all you want as far as I'm concerned.![]()
Lucky you, I had to go in and shore up a couple of spots and redistribute some weight, nothing drastic enough to require new pics, but still a pita, it's stable now![]()

Sorry Charlie, thought I remembered that from your build thread... my bad. Whatever you did it looks great though!
Luckily on mine I had some very large pieces of rock to start out with at the base. Also had some big flat pieces to lay across on the first tier which made things very stable when it was all in place.
I have had the same basic structure for 6 years, it doesn't do any good to get in and rearrange, all it does is cause stress.
