    Re: 20 gal setup

I would slow down a little on your planning. dont think fish or corals right now. rock and sand. let it go a month. and definitly dont get a damsel.....the are the devil incarnate!. i have one in mine that was a "cycle" fish. after almost a year i can say i've been lucky it hasnt proved its name but its not the norm. back to my point....take your time. a small tank has little room fo error because there is no warning signs or gradual degrade of water quality. it hits like a freight train. point 2- listen to these guys. they know what they are talking about becausee they have been there and witnessed many a tank loss due to ppl not taking their advice. these are living creatures that God gave us for our enjoyment and His glory. we thank Him by taking the time to give them a home that they can enjoy

You will most likely spend more buying everything pieced out. But like they said, it is going to be very tough. I have never tried one, but have a friend that set up an exotic zoanthid nano w/ a couple mushrooms and like two small fish. It looked really cool. However he was in the hobby for years w/ a 150 gal before he attemped this feat. Don't let your fish store talk you into tossing a Damsel in their quick, it will terrorize any fish it can.

10-4 Blenny, as I said before, sand and rock to cycle, nothing else, please don't use damsels to cycle, if your lfs tells you that you have to do it that way, find another lfs, it is bad for the fish, bad for you when as blennydude mentioned they get nasty and you got to tear your whole tank apart to get it out. Rock and sand are your freinds right now

Parrot that's what I was implying don't let the reef store let him get talked into that. I know because I was when I started, and probably hundreds of other people starting a new tank. They are resilant little suckers though. Everytime I introduced a new fish they would immediatly bully the poor thing all day if if was comparible in size. I have thought about trying to get them out, but I kinda feel a little for them since they were the original members. Like my pic?

Im acually going to sell my 14gallon biocube once i get my 90 setup. I could clean it up and out, i still have the original box i bought it in i could use to ship it to you. and i could use the money on a protein skimmer.

Let me know if youre interested.

    Deathy,

He needs to go with a bigger system if he upgrades, not smaller, I owned a 14 biocube, and they are good for some zoa colonies, mushrooms, that kind of thing, but they are really to small for any fish to live in, go back a page or 2 and check out his wish list

    Deathy,

By the time he pays shipping to get it there, he can by new at his local lfs, keep in mind that when quoting a price, also it is used, there for retail does not apply, look around at various aquarium items and you'll see......

    Re: 20 gal setup

Well i got it on sale, so retail is over 200. And if blenny was serious id see how much the shipping was and adjust the price from there. Id hook him up, just like i would you on the 110.

    Re: 20 gal setup

Thought you dad was gonna attempt to fix the 110, keep in mind, shipping the bio cube is dimensional weight, not actual weight, cost more.

    Re: 20 gal setup

Death, your right too far. Speaking of those stupid damsels I got talked into when I started my tank... I woke up Saturday and my beautiful new yellowheaded jawfish was swimming for dear life from those little devils. I was on fire!!! I had no choice, so I was able to catch the jawfish and put him/her into my hospital tank. Then I took everything out, rock, corals, inverts, fish, etc... into an extra 30 gal filled w/ water I siphoned out of my main tank so I could later put it back. I caught those littles bastiges along w/ a pink back diadema who was helping them. They were lucky I was cooled off by the time I got them and they got a ride back to the LFS, or they would have been flung into the snow. This project took me from 10 am til 11 pm, and about 4 more hours the next day. But I have no more bully fish!!!!! Yeh, ha!! The jawfish (Lacy) is doing well.

Assissino hasn't posted in 3 weeks? Maybe he got grounded for telling his dad he needed a Bubbleking.
