Sharing Nano Pics
Hope no one minds my sharing pics of my nano which was set up July 2. Everything in the tank came from my main reef, water, sand, rock and corals. Only thing new is the two teeny powerheads. Feel free to add your pics to thise post...I'm sure everyone would love to see them.
Sorry for the multiple posts, I still don't know how to post multiple pics. ![]()

Definitely no masterpeice. Here is our black sand wonder. I am still working on getting some good picks. That darn bow really makes it hard.
![]() 7g bowfront, 32w smartlamp, Aquaclear 250 HO for flow, 1.5" fan for cooling Currently houses several types of shrooms, zoanthids, hammer, open brain, and a couple of leather frags. Oh, and the bloodshrimp from our 72g reef tank now calls this home (not very photogenic). |

I wish I have a digi cam to take some pics of mine.
Very nice tank GL. I'm wondering how ur doing with the sun coral in the tank? Do you think it'll raise ur nitrates too much due to its feeding needs? I'd like to put mine in the 7G also, but afraid that it'll be too 'messy'. |

Shumala, on the contrary, I am not worried at all about the sun corals now, because they are in a better environment to be fed (smaller tank). Since I do water changes every week and have a dsb, nitrates are zero. There are three corals I placed in this tank that needed a more nutrient-rich environment: the sun corals, my purple goniopora (which was near death and is now recovering beautifully) and an elegance that I am attempting to save. The elegance was in my main reef for many months and doing/eating well, only to suddenly begin to shrink after I added a more powerful protein skimmer. I feed the nano phyto and microvert. Corals are lovin' it! Thanks for your compliment. Happy reefing!

Beautiful tank!
What lights do you have on the nano? Skimmer?
I'm inspired to do one in my office. |

To Reinhold
Thanks Reinhold, I'm just using the light that came with the tank for now, but plan to replace it with CSL's 14" 32X2 PC retro kit, $104 at Champion Lighting when I get the extra $. Not using skimmer right now, as I perform weekly water changes, but someday will prolly put a Prizm on it. Once I get 64w of light in there, I will up the circulation and plan to keep sps and a clam in there.

Just wanna share that I'm using the 32W CSL PC and am able to keep a monti and acro frag with minor growth. But I still think its not bright enough, although the colour is awesome with the smartlamp.
I've also removed the glass between the lights and the tank. |

Just wanted to say kudos on all the great nano's! They look amazing! I have saved the photos and will use them as a goal to try and attain with my own micro-reef. Quick question here: Other than the life that can be seen in the pics, what else are you keeping in these tanks?
Also have included pics of my own 13 gallon tank. Currently with the following: various corals, sponges and mushrooms 9 blue legged hermits 2 astrea snails 1 tiny brittle star 1 yellow nosed goby (gobiosoma randalli) |
