Awesome rocks...what kind is it? Looks like there are clams on there or something...they look pretty bumpy.

I ask earlier, I think he missed tht question?
Based on the pics and comparing it to a few others I believe it to be totoka

Nice. I'll have to get some of that for variety.

Hold that thought, I need to check with a couple of people on that one, just cycle in as you have it, you can always add more later

The tank looks very nice. Is that Totoka rock? The only comment I would have is that while I was painstakingly putting my rock work together, I didn't once think about where I would place all of my corals. Now that my tank is full of it's inhabitants, I'm not going to go back in and change it. I have some rather large pieces that aren't situated in the best way for coral placement. For instance, some of them almost slant forward, making it almost impossible to put a coral on it, especially one that likes full, direct lighting.
I hope you will keep us posted on your progress with lots of pictures!
Cynthia
Thanks Cynthia, does that look like your rock?????

I am sorry I did miss the question, but you are right it is totoka! It is a beautiful rock but can get tedious placing it like I have. I did not want to use any thing that would show and look un-natural when I was building so as I stated earlier I just very carefully placed everything! I have thought about my corals and I have a mental map that will hopefully play out. I may rearrange a little to give some more room but I have not decided. Additionally be careful with this LR pieces break off very easily! I am not sure if other LR is this way as this is the only LR I have gotten! Hope this helps everyone!
yes, that helps, keep us posted on your water parameters as you cycle please

I am sorry I don't mean to sound ignorant but what parameters would you like to know exactly?
the normal stuff, amm., nitrites, nitrate, pH, actually I'm more curious about how long it takes to cycle in, when did you set up the tank

I'm sorry, just went back to page 1 and saw it's a brand new baby.....good, I would like to watch this closely, also if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the rock

I bought the rock through a local aquarium shop. The staff there is very knowledgeable and helped me a great deal in getting my set up. If you would like I could talk to the owner and see if he would mind shipping some to you. The price is 5.99 a pound. Aside from that I was wondering what yall thought about http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...y_Code=Maxijet
instead of the new power heads or do both or what ever? Just a new piece to my puzzle![]()
In regards to the maxi-jet mods, What are your actual tank dimensions??
As for the rock thats the going price on the web through several different dist. thanks for the offer though

Length 60" Height 21.5" depth 18"
those mods might be alittle much, all I would recommend is maybe converting 2 over, put them up high in the tank or do one at a time, gotta watch the sand, nobody wants a sand storm in the tank, and at 1600 gph per, thats alot of flow
