Gonna use the 3 chambered sump as a refugium (originally the wet dry). Any ideas.
Here are my thoughts: Tank returns to first chamber - hits protein skimmer. After skimmer, water is feed in to the middle chamber - this is where I'd put the refugium. I'd then use a U tube with a gravity feed to get the water from the refugium to the third chamber which houses RIO 2500 which then returns to the tank. The acrylic divider between the 2nd and 3rd chamber has a 1/2' gap on the bottom to allow the water to flow between chambers. I was thinking about plugging this up so that I can put a sand bed, live rock and some caulerpa in there. Any thoughts/recommendations on lighting, stocking, etc. Thanks. |

Idrum,
If I were using a skimmer, I definitely would put it before the refugium. My WEB site has pictures and CAD drawings of my refugium/algae filter/sump. Regards, Scott ------------------ The definition of an expert is a washed-up drip under pressure. You can see my reeftank at http://www.homestead.com/spasse/ |
