    my 125 ltr tank

hey this is my first post. this is my second reef tank my first tank was a 45 ltr tank. now i have upgrade to a 125ltrs.the tank has bin running for bout 6 months now i think and has had a few problems like high nirates white spot which i am glad to said is all sorted now thankfully. i have a external filter which only has carbon and rowa phos in it. flow rate is bout 30x tank volume. there is bout 13 kg of LR. lighting is 2 aquarays reef white but i am thinking but either putting my t8s with the aquarays or just get another aquaray.i have various corals from soft to lps corals. got 10 snails and hermit crabs 2 cleaner shrimps a peppermint shrimp. 2 clowns 2 peacock wrasse flasher wrasse. royal gramma yellow headed jawfish yellow goby green banded goby firefish and a small sailfin tang.

sorry bout the long post and let me know what u think.

I think you have two threads entitled "my 125 ltr tank"? I still think your 30g tank has crushed coral and that's why you have high nitrates.I also still think your 30g tank is over stocked and that a Sailfin Tang doesn't belong in a 30g tank. That's what I think, what do you think?

my nitrate r down to zero now and have bin for bout 5-6 weeks. has for the sailfin tang he is only small and when he out grows the i will rehome him to a bigger tank which won't happen over nite. has for the tank being overstocked the system doesn't think so and the water tests don't speak that either. here r my last test result from his morning
    nitrite 0
    ntrate 0
    p.h 8.2
    ammonia 0
    Phosphate 0
    cal 450
    sg 1.025

If you have crushed coral you have nitrates and you have crushed coral.

The Sailfin tang needs a big aquarium and should not be housed in aquariums smaller than 100 gallons / 375 litres. A juvenile specimen can be kept in a 75 gallon / 285 litres tank. The aquarium where you house your Sailfin tang must contain plenty of open water for swimming as well as a lot of nook and crannies that will serve as hiding spots for the fish. Including Acroporid coral skeletons is recommended.

so how come my nitrate tests read zero than????

i test my water every other day and once a week at two different lfs and the results is the same zero. my NITRATES r ZERO.
i know lots of people with tangs in a 125ltr tank. my sailfin has loads of room and loads of cover if he wants to hide.

Well at least you admit to having crush coral finally. And there's only one thing that comes out of the south end of a north bound bull.

I'm with you Stump, I got the Arag-Alive special grade and told that it's a nitrate factory but my tests are always negative.

your tank looks nice. If you parameters are all good, stay the course. You corals look nice, a few are not fully extended, but that could be for a number of reasons...

    Good luck with the tanks.
I swim with them, eat them, catch them, care for them, but never get tired of "them"....

First,I won't believe you anyway.Anybody can fake tests especially with just photos. Two,I'm 50 and retired.Three,What kind of gibberish are you talking about when you say if fish could talk what would they prefer 125 ltr of good water or 300 gallon of rubbish water. Are you saying people with tanks bigger than you don't have good water parameters or maybe just people with big tanks or even just people with 300g tanks.Either way your full of it.Not only that but your grammar is terrible for somebody located in England.

Ok guys, if you won't play nice I'll be forced to close this thread.
So, lets take a deep breath and get back to reefing.

Stumpy, I agree with Steve that your tank is stocked to the gills. Regardless of the water parameters 30g tank shouldn't house any tangs, I hope you agree with it and find a proper solution for fixing this predicament.
    Kind regards,

    Gene.

i haven't said anything bout where u come from. why would i fake a tests i have got no reason too. alls i'm saying is that would ur fish prefer good or bad water para. i'm not saying anything bout people with bigger or smaller. and i'm not full of it. this is a forum where u give adivce and help to other not talking down to them just because they have done something u don't like or wouldn't have done.

tbh i'm getting fed up now with arguing now so lets end it now. oh and i apologise for calling u 17

    thanks
    phil
