Wife went shopping so toothbrush is now an option.
What she does not know won't hurt her . ;)

Well the Live Rock showed up. The Fiji Totoka had pretty much nothing soft to scrub off. Lots of pretty branching stuff.
The Fiji Premium came in much bigger pieces with lots of black soft stuff to scrub off.
Lots of rock ! If I had known how much this was going to be I would have ordered less.
I discovered I am really good at making sandstorms .
The skimmer has come to life making lots of foam.
Can't get the black color off the tooth brush .
We will see how it goes.
Thanks Folks for all the advice.

Good Job, now keep an eye on your skimmer cup over the next few days to a week its gonna be pulling alot of goo, also test your water

Now hurry to the store for a new toothbrush before the wife gets home, remember the colors have to match

Rinse each piece in the fresh saltwater and scrub as much of the dead stuff off as you can, like sponges plant life if any, etc. then put it in the tank and let your cycle begin, there is gonna be good cycle here do to the condition of the rock, but it might not be a total loss, some of the rock floats to the U.S. instead of being flown in and gets sold in lfs all over, after you cycle this in you may want to add a couple choice pieces picked up locally to help seed what you have. I'd cycle with what you got and see how it comes out.

    Very good advice parrot.

Bloodydecks, I was not saying he should bitch at Fed-X, read his post, you will see where the vendor never provided him with the tracking numbers till yesterday. It's the vendor I'd be pissed at, I won't order on-line unless I receive a tracking number immed. or by the close of the shipping day.

Your comment of "don't be nice" is what I was referring to. When you need something, or are missing something, and your only help comes from the person on the other side of the phone..."being" nice is the best thing you do. LOL

He had already been nice, and still didn't have a tracking number from the vendor, I have been is sales/service for over 25 years, have dealt with fortune 50 companies as both vendor and customer and I know that after being nice sometimes you gotta be an a#$ to get what you actually need. without the tracking number, fed-x could not have helped...........You are right to a point, but as I said he was nice already and got nothing.

Re: Here is my 90 gal setup.

Actually according to his posts, all he had done at that point was try and contact them via e-mails, no phone or personal contact had been made. So being an a-hole to the first person you speak with normally would be more harmful then good....but I would agree, multiple phone calls, and no help, then its time to get pissy.

Re: Here is my 90 gal setup.

    Water Flow??
I have 2 K4's I have one set up moving water along the back of the tank right to left.
And the other moving water from left to right along the front of the tank.
Pump from the skimmer helping move water along the back.
Should I have one or both pointed right at the live rock or am i good?
Both are about half way up from the bottom.

    Thanks

SHOULD BE FINE..IF NOT ALREADY, HAVE ONE PUMP UP HIGHER THEN the other so that the flow is at the top and bottom of the tank...sorry for the caps.

Re: Here is my 90 gal setup.

Just a couple of quick questions.
My protein skimmer is foaming like mad and keeps filling up with water, is that normal ? Just dump the water when it's full?
Should I invest in some live sand or sand bed starter stuff. Grunge whatever considering my live rock may be dead?

    Thanks

adjust the O-Ring on the collection cup, put it about half-way up on the collection cup and see if that works better, right now you are skimming real wet, by adjusting the o-ring you won't skim as wet, it will be fine, don't worry about buying live sand, just see if you can get a cup or two from you lfs or a fellow hobbyist in your area. The jury is still out on wether your rock is dead, just let it do it's thing for now, and test water in the morning and post your results please. By the way, loved the pic.
    Tanks,
    Robert

Re: Here is my 90 gal setup.

I did 2 diff ammonia test. I have a dip strip range goes from 0 to 6 it came out as a 1 = stress no units on this test. Another test came out 1mg/L.
Also tested NO2 that came out 5.0 mg/L
Tank cleared up a bit from yesterday.
