Can't seem to catch that Mantis Shrimp

Well, I have tried the trap version and the plastic bottle version. I cannot get that shrimp to bite! The snails and crabs sure want the fish head, but that Mantis will not go inside to get the head!

I then tried taking the rock and submerging it into RO freshwater. I left it there for 10 minutes and he never exited. I then swished the rock around in the water...still no Mantis.

What do try next? He's killing my snails!
    Ugh.

Do you think putting a piece of shrimp on a skeuwer and sticking it by the entrance to his den might luar him out to net him? Do you have a pic of him? Just curious to see that little killer.

If you can get the rock out that he's hiding in then freshwater dip WILL work... If he did not come out when you did this the first time he was not in the rock. Otherwise, try some fresh clams and/or shrimp in your trap and be patient.

Forgot to add... If/when you get the rock out he's in take a turkey baster and shoot freshwater into all the little holes and crevices. I guarantee he will come right out!
