toadstool and clownfish

I have a toadstool coral and BTA but my clownfish are attempting to nest in the toadstool, and the toadstoll isn't opening. I have read that toadstools will eventually get used to them and open back up. Is this correct? or is there no hope for my toadstool.

From my experience, the sacrophytons never fully extend, but will open....it just takes them a little time, as the clowns are more of an irritant to them they anything. Unlike the ones in the pic, my clowns always rubbed the crap out of the coral....sometimes they would stay closed for a few days...

Sometimes clownfish will ignore a perfectly acceptable host anemone in favor of a coral as host. In your case, I think your clowns will eventually leave the coral alone and accept the BTA since it is the only natural host for your species of clownfish. I would venture a guess that this process won't take much longer as you've already had the clownfish for three weeks. That's assuming you've had the BTA as long as the clownfish and that it is of an appropriate size to accomodate them.
