Oysters?????

I was wondering if anyone here has oysters in their tanks? I am thinking about getting one of these oyster clumps to help filter my tank, if anyone has an input on weather these help or not it would be appreciated

I'm pretty sure oysters come from temperate water zones, but I'm not sure. You should check on this first, as they may be found in both temperate and tropical.

If they are tropical, I would think they would do fine in your aquarium, and would help filter the water.

I have seen green mussels in the trade, and have tired them one time in a refugium, , but they did not live. I did't do much research on them, and they also may have come from a temperate zone./?

wish i could offer more help. I will say i have never seen or heard of any one using oysters in their tanks. Also, I don't know much about there feeding needs...filter feeders, and they wil help reduce nitrate, but that about all i know.
