At the LFS the xenia was flourishing, huge, and pulsating. Since i got it into my tank it has been small, week, thin, and slightly brown. It isnt dead but its not flourishing like it was when i bought it.
Help??

Pulsating Xenia
Reef keeping is one of the only endeavors that going slow is actually faster.

just to share your pain, i've had several types of xenia over the years - some is easy to care for and others is hard.. one LFS by me that has TONS of the pinkish type swears by "Lugos" (sp?) iodine.. says they couldn't keep the stuff until they started dosing.. and now they have it growing like weeds.. (this is of course no substitute to good water/tank conditions as stated by the other posts). good luck.
Never, never add anything to your tank that you cannot personally test for. I've kept xenia before as well, it multiplied faster than rabbits never added iodine to the tank, the stuff is a noxious weed
Answer the questions as soon as you can, and we'll get this figured out![]()
