Looks like a bristleworm. Unless they grow huge, they are usually a good thing to have in your tank.
Found this worm when I pulled some live rock outa my tank. Anybody know what type of worm this is and is it good or bad?

It could be some species of Ribbon Worm, or some species of phyllodocids. Doesn't look too much like a bristle worm if you ask me.
Kind regards,
Gene.

definately.
Joe, when it's full grown it will look like this:
Yours is at least a couple of months away from reaching this size.
LMAO..Thats a huge, beached worm.
Thanks everybody. I have seen bristle worms before, but what threw me off was the orange outline on this one. back in the tank it goes...
for fun...
Bristle worm eats entire fish:
I'm never sticking my hand in a tank again.![]()
i had a firefish that died in my tank i saw my bristle worm eat it. it was quite neat, but now its got me concerned about my remaining fish. the bristle worm is about 8-10in right now.
Never argue with an idiot, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Did you see the "bristle worm" eat it while it was alive or after it was already dead?
Do you have any photos of your "8-10in bristle worm?" There are several thousand different worms that can be called bristleworms, so it helps if you can narrow down your description a little. If it is a common Eurythoe complanata, then it shouldn't cause any problems. However, there are quite a few "bristleworms" that can cause problems, so it's impossible to comment one way or the other without knowing what we're talking about here.
