The rods would be a lot easier for placing corals, at least for me with my Totoka, than what I do, glueing frags to small pieces of LR. I spend too much time trying to get the frag to stay when I place it and then I wind up having to move it because it's not secure. Interesting article.
That's a good idea Metalhead,if you go to my build thread you will see that I already bought 1/4",3/8",1/2" and 3/4" acrylic rod just for that purpose.The 3/4" rod is for making a standard plug by cutting a 1/8" or 1/4" off and gluing it to one of the smaller rods or you can just glue one of the smaller rods to the frag.By buying different size rods you can use the different size holes in your rock without drilling the rock.I bought the acrylic rods in six foot lengths and it was cheap.Here's the link to where I bought the acrylic rod.
