Hello, today during my partial water change, while I was siphoning my tank my soft Tree coral decided it wanted to go up the pipe, well only half of it.. In my panic I shook the pipe and it came out but it looks like the side got damaged and punctured. I have left it in the tank but its flopped over and sulking. The trunk stood about 2 inches and 3/4 inch thick.
My question is will it repair itself? Will it give off some bad toxins?
Any Advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks, Craig
Sad thing is I was just admiring how pretty it looked....

Took picture with Phone. Looks like its starting to inflate a little..
From the picture it looks like Xenia. If it is Xenia, it's not dead, not even close. Probably just a little PO'd. I've been trying to rid myself of some lately and it is tough stuff.
Chasman
There are couple of different species of Xenia and some are extremely tough and tolerate many husbandry misgivings, and then there are the same species that almost impossible to keep alive in other tanks.
I mean in the store that I go to they have tank where Xenia grows everywhere, even on the return lines..I put a piece in my tank and it is dead within few days...Same lighting and all, water chemistry and such.
Anyway, the coral in the picture looks alive and I wouldn't touch it for a few days. It should bounce back like Steve and Chasman said already.
Kind regards,
Gene.
