Do you have some good flow in there? It will help w/ the brown stuff.

I know the pieces fit, cause I saw them all in place
All I have is the filter thing that came with it. It seems to move the water good though. I was looking to add a sump filter to this with a nice pump but since I am not pushing the 5 gallon so much any more I figure I will let it go a little longer and when I add my CUC they will have some goodies to munch on.
Sea cucumbers are very sensitive to changing water parameters, and need a large amount of sand in an established system to prevent starvation and a slow death.
I would get an AquaClear hang-on filter, larger than the one that you have. It will produce more flow in your tank, and allow you to easily add many types of filter media. They are also adjustable, and cheap.

I would try a single herbivore snail, and see what effect he has on the tank after at least a month.

But in reality, the best use for this tank may be as a small quarantine tank, or a refugium for your larger system-to-be. If you make it your QT, you would move the current contents into your next, larger tank.

ParrotHead,
Yes it is the rock I mentioned. I asked for smaller rock due to the small size of my tank. I wanted to make sure when I added fish they had room to swim, but because of the small size of my tank I am not looking to add the 2 fish I was orginally.
Todd,
Thanks for the links and info. I am looking to start the frame to my new tank this week (after I finish the work on my truck). I was intending to move the stuff in my tank to the newer larger one but had a few ideas on what to use this one for but wanted to get some opinions for the experienced crowd as well.
As always thanks for all the help and info.
