    FOWLR to Reef Overnight

So I have had a 29 gallon FOWLR for about 4 months now. Nothing but Live rock, hitch hikers and fish.

Until this morning when I woke up I noticed I had 2 little orange/yellow Polyps of some sort popping out of one of my rocks. It is at the highest most part of my tank. I am positive it is not a type of tube worm. Unfortunately I cannot get a verry good pic of it

Now the big question is how is this even possible? I have an Eclipse 3 hood with standard T5 fluorescent lighting. What will I need to keep this little guy alive?

    Thanks

It could be aipstasia (?), wen i got one growing i tought it was a polyp too, sorry but realy, without a pic we can't help you, if it is aipstasia your system its in danger.

If you wanted to upgrade the lighting and keep the hood you could do a retrofit. It would only get you to 2x24 watts though. I think I saw a retrofit kit that was made specifically to fit the eclipse 3 hood while I was doing battle with my old hood. Just don't ask me where I saw it, I went through way to much info trying to figure out how to make that hood do what I wanted it to. I think Icecap has a ballast that would let you really push the bulbs to get up to 2x40 watts.

    Re: FOWLR to Reef Overnight

Coming in really late on this, but I have a similar experience. I have some sort of pinkish red polyp growing in my My 6 week FOWLR, and I also have T8's. This one is fairly low in the tank though. I've been watching it since day one, and it seems to be thriving somehow. It also closes up with out the lights on.
Can anyone identify and suggest if I should care for this or remove it?
