i have seen these in my lfs and was told that they are ok in a reef..i dont have one..but if it is small and the one i think it is..you should be ok... but i cant guarantee anything.. as you are aware..even the most "reef safe" critters sometimes just are not....!!

Well, if you're considering Fromia elegans, perhaps two or three max. They're relatively small (3-4" adult size). I'm not sure of the adult size of that black-tipped Fromia that you linked to. Just remember that they feed on detritus, surface microbes and surface algal films, so you don't want to overload the tank.
