Back From Eco-land

Just got back from Preuss Animal House, ( Lansing, Michigan) , as if you didn't know that. I was able to see this Leng system at work. The tank was set up three months ago. Per their data it has no detectable nitrates or phosphates. The fish and corals looked to be thriving. No skimmer was used either. The reef guys there told me that a one to 2 inch sand bed would be ok to use. Thanks spasse for the explanation of how your system works. I do see the necessity in feeding this kind of system. The algea seem to be as equally important as the sand and mud for sucess. I believe I will start out with this type of system. I do not anticipate having it set up much before christmas so that gives me ample time to continue on my quest for knowledge.
thanks again,
