nhgvgh
the tank is 55 gallons. Its is the only one in the tank and idk if it was sick but it killled the angel in 2 days after i put it in and its about 4" long. Should i take him back
it was a bi-colored angel
sorry i didnt meant to send that and can u solve my problem
Bi-colored angels are a tough fish to keep these days from everything I read.
If you had a nasty clown attacking him that would only hasten matters.
How long do you have the clown, and how long did you have the angel?
For that size tank, it may be hard to find suitable tankmates for a big clown with an attitude.
Maybe a Lionfish? I'm not sure. If you do get one, train it to accept frozen foods. Feeder fish can cause a variety of problems.
And get a second opinion first.

i just bought them this weekend so idk and do u think tangs would survive with him
ToddTT is right we need more info than just a dead fish and a possible perp. The main thing is tank size in this case, clowns are territorial and aggressive fish. If you have less than a 50g, you have selected the wrong fish. Aggressive fish should be added last even in bigger tanks.
Little late on that answer, was talking to my daughter.
What info do u need?
That's enough info, the clown is very aggressive. Not many fish will survive with it. Maybe Damsels or large predatory fish.
The problem there is tank size. A Tang that could stand up to this clown would also need a much larger tank than a 55, unfortunately.
If you put a Tang in there, the two fish could do some serious damage to each other.
How long has your tank been set up? And what sort of fish do you like? Have a long look here, paying special attention to minimum tank size requirements:

Also check out the compatibility chart for a rough idea of what can go with what:

Once we know more about your setup, and your preferences, we can give you some more advice and suggestions. But I have a feeling the best course for this clown is to return him, assuming your LFS is willing.

should i get rid of him and how
I wonder if you could add an eel to the tank? But again, get second or third opinions.
And eels are escape artists. You need a locktight canopy on your tank.
But if you're ready to go that route (returning him), I would just show up at your LFS with the clown in a nice size container, pitcher, etc. And put that inside of a bag. Make it look like you have taken good care of it, and tried to minimize stress and temperature fluctuations.
Tell them it killed your other fish, and you feel that it is too large and aggressive for your small tank.
If you are lucky, they will give you full or partial credit. They may not even do that though. In this case, eat the loss, and chalk it up as a lesson learned. It sucks, I know.
And then start a new stocking plan, and let us know what you've come up with.
Good luck.
+1 eel = -1 clown.

Mike,
First off, welcome to reeflands
Todd had asked you how long this tank has been set up, I noticed you did not post the answer to that question, it would be beneficial for us to know that. So, How long has the tank been set up?????????
The reason I'm asking is, you added both fish at the same time, it doesn't sound like it would be a territorial issue with both going in at the same time, and the short amount of time it took for this to happen, let us know how long this tank has been up.
Tanks,
Robert
