    just a little update for u tank is running fine now had abit of hair algae but it has gone now. the only thing i'm thinking of changing is my lighting the mh is costing me a arm and a leg at the min to run. bin thinking bout going down to t5's or LEDs don't know yet

    I'd go with the t-5's, there is not enough data out there yet on the leds to convince me that they can and will support corals over the long term, JMHO

    thanks m8 there r a few people i know which use LEDs at the min and there corals r doing great but they haven't got any sps in just soft and lps so i'm abit worry they won't support my sps's might setup up a little nano and give the LEDs a go over that and see what the results r. i know there is some new LEDs just bin lunched over here and they r better than the old one and give out 52% more light output.

    They look pretty, except they state it only produces light at 9000k, my daylight bulbs in my fixture the new one and they are still factory bulbs are 10,000k, and the cost of led's are a bit high, 250 pounds = 500 usd, that would be a 1000.00 usd to light my 55, with no actinic action going on, I can by alot of replacement bulbs for that kinda money

    They might get better down the road, but as you pointed out, SPS and LPS is yet to be determined.

    wow stunning tank looks amazing

    can I ask where do you get your corals from?

    I am going to be thinking about some of the easier corals zoa's star polyps colt that tyoe of think, but my lfs doesn't have much choice in the way of zoa's.

    could you recommend anyone to me? I am in Jersey channel islands so it will have to be courrierd to me.

    thanks m8. some were from a fish shops in manchester and stockport then got some from a a few websites will pm u with the sites.
