I have a RO/DI setup with the system punched into a copper pipe via Melvsreef hardware.
The RO/DI water goes into a large holding tank. Does anyone know a way to automate this so it goes on
and off depending on the level of water in the tank?
Thanks

Reef keeping is one of the only endeavors that going slow is actually faster.
I have looked at many ATO setups. My problem is the RO/DI line is on a finger valve a
Saddle-piercing clamp

The ATO systems I have looked at all turn a pump off and on.
After the RO/DI line is open it has pressure I just need to figure how to turn the line off and on without
physically turning the clamp off.

replace that copper pipe like a week ago, seriously, get rid of the copper

Not a chance my whole house is copper.

at least replace it where it feeds the ro/di water, go research the effect of copper on a reef tank, I can guarntee you are not gonna like what you read. JMHO![]()

I have read all the stuff on copper . Does not the RO/DI unit take it all out?
I thought that was the purpose of the RO/DI to take all the bad stuff out of the house water.
None of my inverts show any stress. TDS =0

What you are talking about, Robert? My RO/DI is connected via suddle valve (yes, the piercing kind) to the copper pipe for about 10 years, I've yet to detect any copper in my RO/DI water.
What you need is a shut off valve on your RO/DI filter. Look it up in any of the vendors that sell these filters and you can isntall it yourself. Very easy and simple.Originally Posted by ChemGuy

I have the same one, by the way. ;)
