    Hawaiian Feather duster

my feather duster who has been in my tank for over 2weeks start to act a little wierd these past few days

he goes inside his tube for a couple minutes and then comes out for anywhere from hours to minutes, is that him feeding like does he have to bring in him feathers to feed on what gets on them or is it something else?

    Re: Hawaiian Feather duster

Had mine for about a month and earlier this week it spawned...was cool to watch. It was in and out of it's tube, kind of like you described. Watch for a continuous tube of mostly translucent slime being ejected. In it, you'll see tiny little hairs and white specs. If your fish and filters don't eat them all up, you might get a few to grom on your rocks.

I've read that sometimes after spawning, these dusters will lose their crowns, presumably to avoid eating their own young. They will normally regenerate the crowns after that.
